About Me
Where I’m from -
I was born in Melbourne Australia. I mostly grew up in a small town called Mansfield, Victoria. The high country offers great subject matter for nature and landscape photography, however I discovered my true passion is for street photography. I now reside in Adelaide SA (where there’s a little more action).
Where I Started -
If I remember correctly I actually ditched a business unit after one class (wonderfully boring) and replaced it with photography at Melbourne’s Deakin University. This class was my introduction to the art form. I borrowed my mothers old Topcon RM300 which was great, however I did wish the family heirloom was a Leica or Hasselblad. I now have a reestablished passion for film photography and shot Streets of Adelaide with an Olympus OM2n SLR and a Canonet QL19 rangefinder. I started my “Street Photography” journey with a workshop ran by international street photographer Eric Kim some years ago. In 2019 I then travelled overseas where my style and experience really levelled up using a Ricoh GR2 and Olympus OMD EM5 for my Japan Collection.
My Business -
A question I have been asking myself is, what am I doing with all these images? I decided to create this website primarily as a portfolio to show some of my work to the world. I use a print on demand service to create products that I have designed/personalised myself under the business name F.Baker Designs. It is my hope that you will love my photographs as I much as I do and want to add to my coffee fund by supporting me with a purchase.
In summary, buy a bloody t-shirt or laptop case! Haha
